Elephants for Peace: Peace made visible
“We are creating images of Peace and Joy
Images of Today that create the Future we desire”
The movement Elephants for Peace wants to render visible a given reality: the majority of the people are peaceful and live accordingly. Rendered visible by courtesy of a new symbol uniting generosity, strength, and peacefulness: the elephant. With all its height and power the elephant lives peaceful in a community with the Other. Elephants for Peace desires to produce a balance and real pictures in a way that is nonpolitical, gentle, playful, and includes everybody.
The picture is produced by its participants which allows every individual to become a part of this enterprise and to be involved in a positive change. Elephants for Peace events and exhibitions demonstrate pictures of hope and show that in fact the majority of our society wants to live in peace.
Since the human brain works with images, those testimonies of peace and happiness put up at symbolically significant places or places of current conflicts have tremendous effects. The events initialized by participants of Elephants for Peace have great vibes on many nations and they correct the current picture on a local and global level. Elephants for Peace does not only talk about Peace but renders a desired reality.

June 6. 2010 Schengen, Luxembourg
June 6, 2010 Elephants for Peace rendered visible and graspable the major concept for Peace in Schengen Luxembourg. 25 years ago the Fear of the Other was given no more room and the result is a stable and desired peace amongst former enemy nations.
Our next exhibition will take place on international Peace Day September 21, 2010 in Strasbourg, France.
Our next event will take place in Istanbul, a site connecting Europe with the Orient. At the end of 2011 Elephants for Peace is in preparation to create a peaceful picture in Haifa and Jerusalem.
Participants welcome.
ALL FOR A WORLD WITHOUT BORDERS
Many wise thinkers took a fling at the idea of a world without borders. This idea always stayed an ideal until Europe was born for its citizens by means of the Schengen Agreement in 1985 – an essential moment for the world history. Five states decided to give up border controls and to create a territory without boundaries. This arrangement was made in Schengen, a small Luxembourgian town in the tri-border region France, Luxembourg, and Germany. By now this agreement is applied in 28 European states. This major event in the human history inspired us to organize the World Peace Forum – Luxembourg 2010 for the 25th anniversary of the Schengen Agreement. It is now on us to emphasize the specialty and to appreciate the courage because then in 1985 the initiators overcame the fear of the other. The result: A stable peace like it has never been there before between countries that were enemies for centuries. To open the borders: A key to peace with success
